Designing innovative projects and creating partnerships to engage communities in sustainable solutions
Sustainability Without Borders
Sustainability Without Borders (SWB) is a multidisciplinary student organization sponsored by the Center for Sustainable Systems at the University of Michigan’s School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS).
SWB engages students in global partnerships to design innovative development projects with the members of intended beneficiary communities. SWB partnerships promote bidirectional learning, allowing students and community members alike to both impart and gain new knowledge.
At its core, SWB seeks to prepare students with the skills to develop and implement environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable projects — to become future leaders in a growing network of sustainability practitioners.
